In light of the national legalization of same-sex marriage, we invite you to an evening in which each of us can engage with and process what this Supreme Court decision might mean for the LGBT, SSA and LDS communities, as well as for our nation at large. (link to Facebook event)
Community Conversations are an opportunity for individuals of all backgrounds and philosophies to join in dialogue about issues of interest to the LGBT and LDS communities. Community Conversations are not presentations or panel discussions, they are opportunities to ask questions and share personal experiences. They are grounded in the conviction that the human experience is complex and that communities are only built and maintained when we listen, love, and seek to understand.
This conversation is facilitated by members of Mormons Building Bridges and The Village Square – Salt Lake City and is generously hosted by Rowland Hall School.
We invite those with a range of reactions, viewpoints and questions to attend, as we believe that our conversations and our understanding of one another are enhanced when a diversity of opinions and experiences are heard. Please Join us.
The group conversation will begin at 7:30pm and continue through 9:00pm. From 9:00-9:30 we invite you to continue the conversation around refreshments. The refreshments will be potluck, so bring something to share if you like.
